Alexander Walker
Managing Partner
Alexander is a London-based international campaign consultant. He specialises in complex, multifaceted public affairs and reputation management campaigns, and in corporate strategy, and has worked across Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, North America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Alexander first entered politics in his final year at university, where he was reading chemistry, when he became founding chairman of ConservativesIN Oxfordshire, the Conservative Party’s official campaign for the United Kingdom to remain in the European Union, ahead of the referendum in the summer of 2016. Despite the outcome of the vote, he was inspired by the energy of the Leave campaign and was determined to support the United Kingdom succeed on the path it had chosen, and so moved to Westminster to work as an adviser to a senior pro-Leave Conservative Member of Parliament, managing all of the MP’s parliamentary business and political campaigns.
In that role Alexander advised on the business of the Foreign Affairs Committee and supported the work of the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly. He also administered more than a dozen All-Party Parliamentary Groups dedicated to strengthening the political, social and economic ties between the United Kingdom and Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, Central America, the Commonwealth and many of the UK’s Overseas Territories, and others. Alongside this, he was responsible for coordinating several major international campaigns in Parliament, including the ultimately successful campaign to secure the right of abode in the United Kingdom for former Hong Kong servicemen, the campaign for compensation for victims of Libyan-sponsored terrorism carried out by the Provisional IRA, and the campaign to ban the trade in ivory. During the 2017 General Election he worked at Conservative Campaign Headquarters as part of the Prime Minister’s Operations Team. He remains involved in Westminster politics and works with people across all parties.
Alexander left Parliament in December 2017 to join an established public affairs consultancy, and his work since then has spanned political campaigns, government reputation management and corporate communications. He coordinated Imran Khan’s international PR campaign in the 2018 Pakistan election and the Ethiopian Government’s international and US Congressional reputation campaign during the Tigray War of 2021–22, and has provided reputation management and political communications support to two Gulf governments. He has led a campaign to research and expose the activities of foreign-funded extremist organisations in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. For corporate clients, he has provided crisis and corporate communications support to a number of major companies, particularly across the ports, shipping, healthcare, energy, conservation and technology sectors.
He is currently working on several complex mandates, including for a major shipper operating between Asia and West Africa, and supporting the global public affairs of the world’s largest ever wildlife conservation project, in India.
Beyond his professional mandates, Alexander is particularly interested in geopolitics, international relations, energy, security and nationhood. Since 2017 he has been a member of the Steering Committee of the Constitution Reform Group, chaired by Lord Salisbury, which advocates reform of the House of Lords in order to strengthen the political union between the nations of the United Kingdom. He has written on the subject on several occasions in The Times.
Alexander holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. He remains interested in science, energy and environmental policy, and in the promotion of STEM subjects in education and politics.
